The Teachers of Australian Academy of Dancing was established in 1971.

The aim of the Academy is to further education in dance through the disciplines of Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz and Tap. Examinations are held throughout the year and students receive medals and certificates for the various grades.

Public examinations are also held where students perform individually before an audience.
